The tuition assistance program helps soldiers on active duty, Army Reserve or Army National Guard pay for school or professional training. Eligible soldiers can receive up to $250 per semester hour and up to 16 semester hours per fiscal year - a total of $4,000 annually to help pay for school or professional training.

To help Soldiers gain a competitive edge in their current and future careers, Army Credentialing Opportunities Online, or COOL, helps Soldiers find and pay for certifications and licenses for a wide range of Army and private sector jobs.

Under the Loan Repayment Program (LRP), the military can repay approximately $65,000 of your currently outstanding student loan debt. The Federal Perkins Loan Cancellation Program gives active-duty servicemen who have served in combat situations the opportunity to potentially cancel 100% of their Federal Perkins Loans or National Direct Student Loans. This benefit does not apply to Stafford Loans or Plus Loans. Active duty soldiers who served at least one year in areas of hostile fire or imminent danger are eligible to cancel their federal Perkins Loan Program student loans.
